How did you enjoy NHK’s “Meikyo Shisui FIFA World Cup Special,” hosted by Junichi Okada and Kendo Kobayashi?

This special program was broadcast just before the FIFA World Cup 2026, exploring the connection between martial arts and the abilities of top football players.

In the program, I appeared together with Japanese football legends Shunsuke Nakamura, Yoichiro Kakitani, Yuji Nakazawa, Tetsuo Nakanishi, and Hinatazaka46 member Yoko Shogenji.

From the perspective of Yang Style Taijiquan, we explored the hidden principles of body movement that can also be found in football.

I have created a supplementary explanation video about the Taijiquan techniques and principles introduced in the program.

The video is now available on YouTube.
Please enjoy it.

In this video, I explain the deeper principles of Taijiquan that could not be fully covered during the broadcast, together with demonstrations with my students.

Main themes:

“Why the Taiji Diagram?”

“The secret of posture”

“The essence of Taijiquan Fajin”

・The secret of the posture explained to Yoko Shogenji

Why was Shogenji able to naturally achieve such a posture?

By watching this video, the secret behind that ability will become clear.
(Around the middle part of the video)

We also practice this principle in our classes.
Even people who cannot do it at first can experience how the body changes instantly and approaches the same natural posture.

・The technique experienced by Yuji Nakazawa
(Around the final part of the video)

・Body mechanics that can also be applied to football

・The principles of Fajin in Taijiquan

Taijiquan is not simply a fighting method.

It is a mind-body culture that develops self-protection through the transformation of Yin and Yang.

From Wuji to Taiji.

From stillness to movement.

This video explains the true potential hidden within original Taijiquan.
